Videos available for viewing on gecscales.com are in the "MPG" file format. When
you click on a link to view a video a media viewer program should launch and
the video should begin playing almost immediately depending on the speed of
your internet connection. Video files should never "download" first before
playing. If this happens, the settings in your media player need adjusting.
There may be more than one media player installed on your computer. These
instructions apply only to Windows Media Player.
1. Launch Windows Media Player. Click Start, then Programs,
then Windows Media Player.
2. From the Windows Media Player menu, click Tools, then
Options. Note: This screen example is from version 10 of Windows
Media Player. Yours may look different but a menu should be available
nonetheless. You may have to hunt around to find out how to show the menu.
3. From the Options dialog box, click on the File Types tab.
Now click the Select All button near the
bottom of the Options dialog box. Finally, click the
OK button to save your settings and then either close or minimize
Windows Media Player. You should now be able to play any video available from
gecscales.com. NOTE: These settings will make Windows Media Player the default
media player for all types of media. Your computer may have other programs
installed that you may want to use instead. A good example of this is viewing
DVD movies. If this is the case for you, then uncheck the
appropriate box for that media type (like DVD Video or Music CD Playback) and
click OK to save changes.
