The US Navy, Naval Weapon Systems Support Division, Mechanicsburg, PA negotiated a sole source procurement with GEC for ETSU’s. The ETSU is an advanced, portable, test set, housed in a pelican style case, used to check, verify and diagnose various electrical characteristics of hand-held power devices. The test sets are used aboard Naval Aircraft carriers where a floating ground is present. The Navy’s procurement team evaluated multiple offerors before awarding the six-figure, sole source contract to GEC. The Naval Supply Systems Command is expected to take delivery of all 19 test sets on or about 31 December 2022. The units will go multiple locations throughout the world. Aeroman, El Savador, S.A. Selects General Electrodynamics Corp. (GEC) AN60z, Highly Accurate, Aircraft Weighing System for a 3rd Time for Weight and Balance of all Boeing and Airbus aircraft
Aeroman, is an MRO Holdings Company and industry leader provides airframe heavy maintenance, modification and paint to some of the world’s top aircraft owners and operators. It has one of the largest aviation maintenance campuses in the world with capacity to service over 35 aircraft simultaneously inside six hangars of up to 40 production lines for any narrow and wide-body aircraft.
Aeroman’s recent purchase of General Electrodynamics Corporation (GEC’s) high-capacity AN60z aircraft weighing system was underscored by adding to their two previous large purchases for GEC’s weighing systems. Aeroman communicated their purchase decision was solely based on GEC’s excellent customer service and the superior reliability experienced with their current GEC scales. GEC’s calibration and re-certification falls under it’s Quality Management System (QMS) AS9100D, specifically applicable to Design, Manufacture, Test and Certification of Ground Support Equipment for Military, Commercial and Business Aerospace Markets. GEC’s QMS is currently audited by Dekra annually for compliance and validity through April 2024. GEC’s manufacturing and corporate offices are located in Arlington, Texas. GEC and Air Arabia furthers their partnership
Air Arabia located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates and a long-standing, proud customer of GEC, contacted its engineering team with an AOG emergency. Air Arabia urgently requested GEC provide technical engineering services for a customized aircraft weight and balance solution on behalf of their customer SALAM AIR. The request included a specialized, off-level weight calculation uniquely created for Airbus A320-251N. GEC’s engineers went to work immediately and within 2 weeks provided the customized weighing solution allowing Air Arabia to return to service their customer’s aircraft ending the expensive AOG event. General Electrodynamics Corporation continues to be known around the world for its superior aircraft scale technology and advanced engineering contributions within the aviation industry. Air Arabia looked to GEC’s engineering team on prior occasions with similar AOG emergency requests. QSA Aeronautical Engineering Services Selects GEC for its Heavy Aircraft Maintenance Operations
QSA, Aeronautical Engineering Services, a leading aviation and engineering services firm located in Dubai, UAE selects GEC’s new AN60z, highly accurate, electronic, piezo-sensor technology over the competition’s less accurate and unstable, strain-gauge shear beam designed aircraft scales. QSA contacted GEC needing a portable aircraft scale solution that could read in 1 lb. or 1 kg. increments from 0-70,000 lbs. The innovative piezo-sensors used by GEC offers a much higher resolution of millivolts (mV) to volts (V) output than the older style shear-beam technology. Guaranteed scale accuracy of +/- .1% or +/- 5 lbs. was critical as was scale repeatability. Following QSA’s thorough technical evaluation, GEC’s AN60z scale design and superior technology was selected for it’s advanced materials, reliability, accuracy, and certificated calibration stability. GEC also uses this same superior electronic, piezo-sensor technology in its LPA400x and ULP410 portable aircraft scales as used predominantly for line maintenance on all light and narrow-bodied aircraft. Headquartered in Arlington, Texas, GEC continues to reach new aviation customers throughout the world.
