Providing a durable, effective, easy to use weighing and storage solution for CVE Officers
General Electrodynamics Corporation (GEC) and CTech have partnered on a new, very durable, easy to use “CopBox” that make’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers’ job more efficient and safer. Housed in the new “copbox” is GEC’s portable MD600L mechanical handheld scale. The MD600L is built with a 60 year history behind it, one with a proven track record of durability and reliability. With it’s fully-mechanical, intrinsically safe design, GEC still wanted to take it a step further providing even more convenience and safety with scale use.
Knowing GEC had to provide a storage solution to go along with the MD600L scale; it needed to be as durable with the same quality and user friendly as the products they provide day-in and day-out. That is when it began discussions with the CTECH team. It was evident from the start that the mission of excellence aligned and the two teams were equally driven to provide the law enforcement community a long lasting storage solution built with quality in mind.
CTECH’s enginering team was easy to work with during the many discussions designing the two MD600L CopBox. They were intent on providing the solution GEC was looking for while offering professional insight on the best solutions in the marketplace. Now, GEC provides both a 4 unit and a 6 unit option for the law enforcement communities purchasing the MD600L; GEC’s COO stated “we could not be happier with the final outcome of the collaberation and design”. These boxes have the ability to fit in the back of officer’s SUVs with CTECH’s QuickLink Mounting System; This allows the officer to easily move the unit from one vehicle into the next vehicle with the new mounting solution. The Cop Box also mounts in the back of other various vehicle types with a rollout base, a setup GEC has chosen while showing agencies the MD600L.
Throughout our travel to different departments and agencies, GEC has heard nothing but praise for the MD600L scale and the storage solution provided by CTECH. We thank you for the outstanding partnership with CTECH in this venture; their professional demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to superior quality is evident in the MD600L, 4 and 6 scale CopBoxes. Go to www.gecscales.com for more information on the MD600L. Don’t hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-551-6038 with any questions about our new scale or copbox.
IMP Aerospace & Defense Chooses the GEC AN60Z
In September of 2020, IMP Aerospace contacted GEC regarding their need for weighing equipment for their C-130 Hercules Program. In May of 2021, they received their custom C-130 configured weighing system. The compact size and portability of the AN60Z scale system worked perfectly with their hangar setup and the Best-in-Class AN60Z did not disappoint. The AN60Z’s superior accuracy and ability to read out in 1 lb. increments made it an easy choice for IMP. They look forward to many years of performance and repeatability out of this system. GEC’s aircraft platform scales are designed for the long haul, and maintain their annual calibration cycle for decades. That’s right, decades, when other scales are being repaired needing costly, overloaded shear beam load cells replaced just to be calibrated properly. GEC has been providing weighing equipment for airlines, MROs, business aviation and military aviation for well over 40 years, and we continue to innovate.
Terrafugia Chooses GEC’s Ulp410 Lite Wireless Aircraft Scale System for Flight Test Program
Terrafugia’s lead flight test engineer contacted GEC to determine the most accurate low profile, light aircraft scale system for their experimental and flight test “Transition Aircraft”, the future of personal transportation.
