General Electrodynamics Corporation (GEC) and CTech have partnered on a new, very durable, easy to use “CopBox” that make’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers’ job more efficient and safer. Housed in the new “copbox” is GEC’s portable MD600L mechanical handheld scale. The MD600L is built with a 60 year history behind it, one with a proven track record of durability and reliability. With it’s fully-mechanical, intrinsically safe design, GEC still wanted to take it a step further providing even more convenience and safety with scale use.

Knowing GEC had to provide a storage solution to go along with the MD600L scale; it needed to be as durable with the same quality and user friendly as the products they provide day-in and day-out. That is when it began discussions with the CTECH team. It was evident from the start that the mission of excellence aligned and the two teams were equally driven to provide the law enforcement community a long lasting storage solution built with quality in mind.

CTECH’s enginering team was easy to work with during the many discussions designing the two MD600L CopBox. They were intent on providing the solution GEC was looking for while offering professional insight on the best solutions in the marketplace. Now, GEC provides both a 4 unit and a 6 unit option for the law enforcement communities purchasing the MD600L; GEC’s COO stated “we could not be happier with the final outcome of the collaberation and design”. These boxes have the ability to fit in the back of officer’s SUVs with CTECH’s QuickLink Mounting System; This allows the officer to easily move the unit from one vehicle into the next vehicle with the new mounting solution. The Cop Box also mounts in the back of other various vehicle types with a rollout base, a setup GEC has chosen while showing agencies the MD600L.

In September of 2020, IMP Aerospace contacted GEC regarding their need for weighing equipment for their C-130 Hercules Program. In May of 2021, they received their custom C-130 configured weighing system.
